At Senator Hotels & Resorts we love Christmas. So, when it comes to decoration we like to pay extra care to every little detail. Besides ornaments and tinsels, stunning real Christmas trees —coming from sustainable farms— dominate the halls of our hotels. Although this might be seen as a contribution to deforestation, it is quite the opposite because for every Christmas tree used we will be planting a new one. As they grow, the trees will have a significant impact on the environment: they improve air quality, maintain the soil and are biodegradable. Several people are involved in their maintenance during the process too, so we are also creating local employment opportunities.
Our commitment to sustainable forestry goes much further, so we are in the process of digitizing corporate documents and moving away from paper. But in the meantime, we are using PECF certified paper, which means that it comes from sustainable sources. This way we also contribute to the preservation of forests for future generations.
